Dr Vikranth Volli

Director, Anant Fellowship for Climate Action and Assistant Professor, Anant School for Climate Action
PhD, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati

Dr Vikranth Volli, Director of the Anant Fellowship for Climate Action (AFCA) and Assistant Professor at the Anant School for Climate Action (ASCA), brings over a decade of experience in teaching, research and academic leadership. His research expertise lies in thermochemical processes, catalyst development and carbon-neutral technologies aimed at reducing fossil fuel dependency and mitigating environmental pollution.

His work integrates experimental and theoretical approaches to develop low-carbon technologies, circular economy models and energy strategies that support climate resilience and environmental sustainability.

Dr Volli holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (2016). His work focuses on advancing sustainable solutions to address climate change through renewable energy systems, biomass conversion and waste valorisation.

At Anant, he is committed to strengthening interdisciplinary research in climate action and energy systems while mentoring the next generation of professionals working towards a low-carbon and sustainable future.

Prior to joining Anant, Dr Volli has held academic and research positions across leading institutions in India and internationally, including the National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh, Kalasalingam University, VIT University and the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, where he also served as a Feng-Tay Postdoctoral Research Fellow. His early professional experience includes working as a Junior Engineer (EHS) at SARACA Laboratories Limited.

Dr Volli’s research interests span low-carbon technologies, thermochemical conversion, catalysis, waste-to-value processes, calorimetric behaviour of lubricating oils and ionic liquids and transesterification. His work continues to contribute to the development of scalable and sustainable energy solutions.

An active contributor to the global research community, Dr Volli has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and holds two published patents. His scholarly output also includes a reference book and multiple book chapters, with his work receiving significant academic recognition, reflected in a strong citation record and research impact.
