Hostel / residence accommodation is optional and not mandatory. Residence & Mess Fee and the Residence Caution Deposit of ₹20,000 are payable only if the student opts for the University residence facility. The Residence Caution Deposit is refundable upon completion of the programme, subject to University policies and clearance of dues, if any.
Need-Based Financial Aid
Candidates who do not qualify for Merit Scholarship may still apply for Need-Based Financial Aid, subject to eligibility, documentation, verification and University policy.

To apply, complete the Acceptance Fee payment, login to the Admission Portal and fill the Step 8 – Financial Aid Application Form. You may also write to financialaid@anu.edu.in and admissions@anu.edu.in for assistance.
Acceptance Fee Note
Candidates awarded 100% Tuition Scholarship and/or Hostel Scholarship are still required to pay the Acceptance Fee of ₹50,000 to confirm admission. For candidates whose scholarship benefits exceed the first-semester fee liability, the Acceptance Fee shall be refunded after completion of the First Semester, subject to applicable University policy and compliance requirements.
