Dr Anjali Kadam

Dr Anjali Kadam, Director, Doctoral Programme and Professor, School of Architecture, is a seasoned professional and academician, actively engaging in urban regeneration projects in historic city centres, in collaboration with international agencies and municipal authorities, to improve living conditions.

At Anant, Dr Kadam provides strategic leadership and oversees the end-to-end management of the PhD cycle while strengthening the doctoral research ecosystem and developing collaborations with academic institutions, industry partners and research organisations to enhance research opportunities and outcomes.

Previously, Dr Kadam was associated with CEPT University as a Visiting Faculty and Head of the Teaching and Learning Center. In this role, she led initiatives to strengthen teaching and learning practices by developing and implementing pedagogical frameworks that enhanced educational effectiveness. She also serves as a resource person for the Council of Architecture, contributing to the inspection and evaluation of architecture colleges across India.

An architect by profession, Dr Kadam earned her PhD from CEPT University, which focused on the socio-spatial relationship in the walled city of Ahmedabad. During her PhD, she was an Erasmus Scholar at the School of Architecture, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain. She also holds a Master’s in Architectural Conservation from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.

Beyond academia, she finds joy in her pets, two dogs. Hiking and trekking are her favourite stress busters, with the latest trek to 4500 m. She, along with her husband, has completed several half marathons.
