About Aarambh Incubation Centre

Aarambh Incubation Centre fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property development and commercialization by supporting startups, student and faculty innovators, as well as industry collaborations. The centre provides pre-incubation, incubation, mentoring, funding support, capacity-building programmes, and ecosystem partnerships to accelerate design-led innovation and entrepreneurship.

Required Education Qualification

Master’s degree in Design, Engineering, Science, Technology Management, Management, Law, Intellectual Property, or a related discipline.

Years of Experience

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industry engagement, intellectual property management, technology transfer, research commercialization, innovation management, or a similar role.
  • Experience in industry engagement, partnership development, and IP management.
  • Excellent knowledge of intellectual property systems, technology commercialization, and research-industry collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, networking, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.

 
Desirable Qualifications

  • Registered Patent Agent (India) or advanced certification in Intellectual Property Management.
  • Experience working in a University Industry Relations Office, Technology Transfer Office (TTO), IP Cell, Incubation Centre, or Research & Innovation Office.
  • Familiarity with government and industry funding programmes for startups and student innovators.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with industry, government agencies, research organizations, startups, and other stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities for industry engagement for student innovators and startups, collaborative research, consultancy projects, sponsored research, internships, and technology partnerships.
  • Support faculty, researchers, students, and startups in identifying innovations suitable for intellectual property protection and commercialization.
  • Maintain records, documentation, and upkeep of matters related to the Institutional IP Cell.
  • Coordinate communication for institutional IP filing with student and faculty innovators and external IP professionals.
  • Facilitate research and practice of technology transfer, licensing, commercialization, and industry adoption of research outcomes.
  • Organize IP awareness workshops, industry interaction programmes, networking events, and innovation outreach initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the Incubation Manager to connect student innovators/startups with industry mentors, corporate partners, investors, and commercialization opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support innovation programmes, outreach activities, and institutional initiatives.

Key Skills

  • Strong understanding of intellectual property rights, patents, and technology commercialization.
  • Experience in industry engagement, partnership development, and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Understanding of technology transfer, licensing, consultancy, and collaborative research.
  • Familiarity with startup ecosystems, innovation support programmes, and government initiatives.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and project management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work collaboratively across academia, industry, and government.
