About Department

The Office of Student Affairs at Anant National University works on all aspects of non-academic student experience on campus as well as at the residences. Student Affairs oversees campus life, residence life, university-wide events, on-campus jobs, student wellbeing, student governance, hobby clubs, and alumni outreach and relations, among others. We strive to create a thriving and fulfilling student experience at par with the best institutions.

Required Education Qualification and Years of Experience

Master’s degree in clinical Psychology or Psychiatry; relevant medical degree preferred, and a doctorate in a related field will be an added advantage.

6+ years with minimum 5 years relevant experience in an educational setting

    Mental Health & Counselling Initiatives
     

  • Design, develop, and oversee comprehensive campuswide counselling programs to support student mental health and emotional well-being.
  • Ensure accessibility, confidentiality, and quality of counselling services across the university.
  •  
    24/7 Mental Health Support Systems
     

  • Establish and manage round-the-clock mental health support mechanisms, including helplines and emergency response protocols.
  •  
    Psychiatric Support & Interventions
     

  • Assess the need for psychiatric interventions in collaboration with qualified professionals.
  • Facilitate timely referrals, diagnosis, and prescription support where required.
  •  
    Preventive Mental Health Framework
     

  • Design and implement structured modules for periodic mental well-being assessments and check-ups.
  • Promote early identification and intervention strategies for at-risk students.
  •  
    Supervision and Management
     

  • Conduct weekly supervision meetings with counsellors to review cases, provide clinical guidance, and ensure adherence to best practices in student mental health care.
  • Oversee and manage the counselling team, including performance monitoring, capacity building, and ensuring ethical and professional standards are maintained.
  • Analyse counsellor reports and case data to identify trends, assess service effectiveness, and inform strategic improvements in student well-being initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage the comprehensive suite of student well-being services at the university, ensuring integration, accessibility, quality, and alignment with institutional priorities.

  • Oversee end-to-end case management, ensuring continuous monitoring, follow-ups, and coordinated care for students in need.

    Fitness Assessment & Academic Continuity
     

  • Develop and implement protocols for assessing student fitness to continue academic engagement or return to the classroom post-intervention.

    Holistic Well-being Initiatives
     

  • Plan and execute relevant workshops, awareness campaigns, and periodic surveys to promote holistic well-being for the entire campus community.
  • Integrate mental, emotional, and social well-being into campus life.

    Academic Accommodations Framework
     

  • Draft and implement policies and processes for granting academic accommodations, including teaching methods, assessments, and campus accessibility.

    Culture & Community Integration
     

  • Design initiatives to embed mental well-being into everyday campus culture in a progressive and culturally sensitive manner.

    Documentation, Reporting & Escalation
     

  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of individual cases and prescribed interventions.
  • Establish clear processes for reporting, risk assessment, and escalation of critical cases.

    Disability Disclosure & Support Systems
     

  • Develop frameworks and structures for safe disclosure of visible and non-visible disabilities.
  • Ensure appropriate academic and institutional support mechanisms are in place to facilitate student success.
