About Communication Design Department

The Communication Design programme at Anant National University is part of a vibrant and rapidly growing design ecosystem that nurtures creativity, critical inquiry, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The department offers a dynamic studio culture where students and faculty engage in an open, intellectually stimulating, and practice-led learning environment. With a curriculum spanning graphic design, typography, photography, illustration, animation, filmmaking, interaction design, immersive media, and emerging technologies, the programme integrates design research, sustainability, systems thinking, and industry engagement. Required Education Qualification and Years of Experience

  • A master’s degree in an appropriate branch with first-class. Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching/Industry/research organisations/ design Studios. In addition, a strong portfolio demonstrating professional and/or academic work in visual communication, branding, publication, packaging, typography, and communication systems

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

  • Teach undergraduate studio courses in Typography, Identity Design, Publication Design, Packaging Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, and related areas of visual communication.
  • Develop and deliver project-based, studio-centred learning experiences that integrate design thinking, research, sustainability, and emerging communication practices.
  • Mentor student projects, industry collaborations, internships, and graduation projects, fostering creative inquiry and professional practice.
  • Contribute to curriculum development by incorporating contemporary design methodologies, digital technologies, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
  • Promote research, experimentation, and innovation in visual communication through scholarly publications, exhibitions, competitions, and collaborative projects.
  • Engage with industry, community, and institutional partners to facilitate live projects and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to academic administration, assessment, accreditation, student mentoring, and departmental initiatives.
  • Conduct research and publish research findings in academic journals and present at conferences to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to engage in real-world projects, internships, and collaborations with industry professionals.
  • Stay updated with advancements in the field and pursue professional certification or memberships to enhance credibility and expertise.
