About HR

The Human Resources office creates, encourages, and maintains an environment that supports, develops and sustains the wellbeing of the University’s employees, students, and the larger community of its stakeholders. The major functions of the Office of Human Resources include but are not limited to the following:

  • Set up recruitment, selection, and employment policies and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate staff professional training, development, and education.
  • Assist in managing and implementing the performance appraisal system.
  • Provide safe and effective working conditions, thus enhancing staff welfare by providing assistance and encouraging a positive relationship between staff and the University.
  • Manage and maintain employees’ records and files, and provide statistical information and reports to the appropriate parties.
  • Develop, implement, and update personnel policies and procedures.

Required Education Qualification and Years of Experience

  • Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience. Experience in the higher education sector is highly desirable.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

    Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
     

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for administrative and support positions.
  • Coordinate with departments on manpower requirements and job descriptions.
  • Coordinate sourcing, interviews, selection, offers, background verification, and onboarding.

    Employee Relations & Engagement
     

  • Address employee queries and support resolution of employee relations matters.
  • Assist in grievance handling, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
  • Support employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.

    Performance & Employee Development
     

  • Coordinate the performance appraisal process and ensure timely completion.
  • Support employee development, training, career progression, and succession planning initiatives.

    HR Policies & Compliance
     

  • Support implementation and periodic review of HR policies and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with University policies and applicable employment regulations.

    Compensation & Benefits
     

  • Support administration of compensation, benefits, leave, and other employee-related functions.
  • Assist with compensation-related analysis and HR initiatives.

    HRMS & Data Management
     

  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRMS.
  • Generate HR reports and analyse data to support decision-making and process improvements.

    Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programmes.
  • Maintain training records and support evaluation of training effectiveness.
