About Anant National University

Anant National University, India’s Premier Design University, is dedicated to training students to devise solutions for global problems through creative thinking.

Our DesignX way is unique in helping young designers develop a better understanding of the context we live in through community immersion, innovation and collaboration. The core of our pedagogy is sustainable design multiplied by a host of knowledge disciplines and technology to make problem solving impactful. Our multidisciplinary undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in design, architecture, climate action and visual arts harness the knowledge from various disciplines and traditional practices to integrate it with cutting edge technology to address diverse challenges.

About the Interaction Design, School of Design

At IxD (Interaction Design Department at Anant National University), we believe that working with colleagues from different disciplines, backgrounds and experiences is key to better learning as well as the generation of new ideas. Therefore, we embrace various approaches and methods from art, science, engineering, design and the humanities. Our approach to learning relies on collaboration rather than competition so as to cultivate a creative environment in which exploration, analysis, risk, and failure can occur freely. We use an iterative cycle of making, generating, criticizing and abstracting, where the making may come first, but the focus is on the development and refinement of ideas. As artificial intelligence reshapes how interfaces, services and creative work are conceived and developed, we treat AI not as a novelty but as an approach to be designed with, interrogated, and held to account. Our goal is to train the new kind of professional for the 21st century, whose practical and critical understanding of technology — including AI and machine learning — is informed by a strong sense of purpose, ethics, and a healthy doubt of the status quo.

    Multisensory Design
    Systems Design
    Data-Driven Design
    Immersive Experience Design
    AI-Driven & Generative Design

  • AI-Integrated Teaching

Bring artificial intelligence into the studio as both a tool and a subject of study — teaching students to use generative AI, machine learning, and emerging AI design tools responsibly, while critically examining bias, authorship, labour, and ethics. Demonstrated ability to teach with and about AI in a design context is strongly preferred.
  • Pedagogical Excellence

Design, update, and deliver high-impact lectures, studio sessions, and hands-on workshops that align with current industry standards and emerging design methodologies, including AI-assisted design and prototyping practices.
  • Collaborative Teaching

Support senior and peer Interaction Design (IxD) faculty members by co-teaching, reviewing, and contributing to cross-disciplinary studio courses.
  • Student Mentorship, Research & Project Guidance

  • Graduation Project Mentorship

Provide rigorous academic and professional guidance to final-year students, helping them conceptualize, develop, and execute outstanding graduation thesis projects, including projects that engage AI and computational methods.
  • Student Research Advising

Actively guide and mentor undergraduate/postgraduate student research initiatives, pushing for innovative problem-solving, prototype building, AI experimentation, and potential publication/exhibition opportunities.
  • Experiential Learning

Foster a culture of continuous learning, critical thinking, and design experimentation — including the thoughtful, ethical adoption of AI — among the student cohort.

Key Skills

  • Seeking imaginative, collaborative candidates to inspire students in emerging media, communication technologies, and artificial intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach with and about AI — generative tools, machine learning concepts, and AI-assisted design workflows — alongside a critical, ethical understanding of their social implications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to engaging with theoretical, historical, and social aspects of technology, including the ethics and politics of artificial intelligence.
  • Prioritize equity-forward teaching practices and embrace inclusivity and diversity, including awareness of bias and fairness in AI systems.
  • Contribute to strengthening design and storytelling fields with interactive media and AI-enabled tools.
  • Teaching focus with a contribution to institutional development and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Evidence of teaching ability and leadership in initiating initiatives.
  • Required skills in core curriculum areas including computer programming, design, electronics, interactive media art, applied artificial intelligence, and thesis/capstone advisement.
  • Excellence in professional/artistic work with a focus on contributions to the field and empowering marginalized communities.
