Akshar is a tool for preserving regional sign languages and connecting them with Indian Sign Language. It bridges the gap between them using a digital tool designed as a reference and a learning aid for school teachers and students. The tool documents regional sign variations and connects them to ISL, focusing on accessibility, minimal complexity of interaction and linguistic authenticity. It also supports cultural preservation while enabling scalable, accessible communication in educational settings.
