July brought with it the excitement of a new academic session as students from the second year onwards returned to campus after the summer break. It was also a month of important milestones, with Anant making its mark through global achievements, faculty excellence, student accomplishments and contributions to national conversations on education and design.
The beginning of the new semester brought the energy back to the campus as students returned from their summer break. With renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment to learning, innovation and collaboration, we look forward to another year of creativity, exploration and meaningful impact.
Anant continued to strengthen its global presence through internationally recognised achievements in design, innovation and research. Prof Yash Pandya was selected for a fully funded University of Luxembourg Incubator programme, where he collaborated with fellow innovators to develop a healthcare innovation.
Dr Priyam Parikh, Assistant Professor, School of Design and Prof Parth Shah, Assistant Professor, School of Design and Manager, Makerspace, mentored Ahmedabad International School student Amay Patel in designing a prototype of a wearable activity tracker for sports performance and injury prevention for football players. The design has received a UK Design Registration.
Together, these milestones reflect Anant’s growing international presence and commitment to creating globally relevant impact.
Anant continued to contribute to important national conversations through the thought leadership of its faculty. Authored articles by Provost Dr Sanjeev Vidyarthi and Prof Ruchie Kothari, Assistant Professor, School of Architecture, appeared in Hans India and The New Indian Express- EduConnect, respectively.
Their pieces explored the future of design education and the role of sustainability in higher education. Together, these publications reflect Anant’s growing contribution to advancing ideas that influence design, architecture, management and higher education.
Anant faculty continue to strengthen the University’s academic and research excellence through impactful scholarship and industry engagement.
Dr Diti Vyas, Associate Professor, School of Creative Practices and Entrepreneurship (SCoPE), was invited to deliver expert sessions at the Bachelor of Science in Management and Public Policy and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programmes at IIM Sambalpur, sharing her expertise with students from one of India’s leading management institutions.
Anant 6th-semester Product Design students Rutuja Ladkat and Roopshree Sancheti secured third prize at the TOYNOVA 2026 Innovation Challenge, held during the TOYBIZ Exhibition at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Selected from over 500 entries nationwide, their project ‘Smriti’, designed for elderly and neurodivergent or physically challenged users, was recognised for its thoughtful and inclusive approach. Mentored by Prof Parag Sarma, Assistant Professor, School of Design, and Prof Tenzing Nyentsey, Associate Professor, School of Design, the project was supported by Aarambh Incubation Centre, reflecting Anant’s commitment to design that creates meaningful social impact.
Anant recently hosted Dr Pramath Raj Sinha, Founding Provost, Anant National University, and a leading voice in reimagining higher education in India. In a freewheeling chat with Burzeen Bhathena, Chief Marketing Officer, Anant National University, Dr Sinha spoke on a myriad topics, including the future of higher education and the importance of design education in preparing a future-ready workforce, capable of meaningfully contributing to the idea of Viksit Bharat.
