The January reboot marked a promising start to the new year, setting the stage for meaningful learnings, impact-driven initiatives and future- building opportunities that lie ahead for our students.

As the Spring 2026 session began, it brought a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm to the campus. From warm reunions, lively conversations to co-learning and the excitement of a fresh start, the campus reflected the spirit of a new academic chapter, one shaped by learning, collaboration and possibility.

Jam Packed 2.0

Anant’s Interaction Design organised Jam Packed 2025, an immersive elective focused on game creation, mentored by Prof Prayas Abhinav, Assistant Professor, School of Design, Dhruv Jani, Designer in Residence, School of Design and Poonam Chowdhury, a game studies scholar and an indie developer. The elective culminated in a 48-hour Public Game Jam, where 63 participants in 15 teams took ideas from concept to prototype, concluding with an exhibition of on-site creations and selected online submissions.

Anant hosted Ar Jabeen Zacharias, a renowned architect and interior designer, for an engaging guest talk. As the founder of Jabeen Zacharias Architects, she spoke about her decades of experience, travel and how her life experiences have shaped her perspective of design. She also shared about her current venture into Global Village Foundation, which aims to support projects and people from all walks of life.

Anant’s Sustainable Fashion and Textile Design hosted Dr Pankaj Kumar, National Project Coordinator, United Nations Industrial Development Organisation. During the visit, Dr Kumar interacted with Anant faculty, sharing insights on UNIDO’s work in advancing sustainable industrial development and exploring potential collaborations with Anant in sustainability, textile futures, climate action, innovation and capacity building.

Yogesh Chander, a 4th-semester BDes Product Design student with minor in Interaction Design, Ashmit Sharma, a 6th-semester BTech in Climate Change student and Asmita G K, a 6th-semester BDes Communication Design student with minor in Moving Image, collaboratively created a Wall Mural at Student Housing 1. The mural reflects the delicate space humans occupy between nature and what we create. The project evolved through multiple stages, culminating in an immersive visual narrative brought to life over 11 dedicated days.

Prof Puneet Kumar, Assistant Professor, School of Creative Practices and Entrepreneurship, participated in a 2-day national brainstorming session on Geo-cultural Mapping, organised by the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Delhi. In the presence of eminent dignitaries, Prof Kumar presented the work done by Anant’s students across two studios and various initiatives over the past 10 months, which received appreciation and detailed feedback from the attendees.

The 5th-semester Communication Design students showcased the ‘Shadow Box’ display as part of the Visual Merchandising module, led by Dikshita Mehta, Visiting Faculty and Prof Devesh Waghela, Assistant Professor, School of Design, at Anant campus. The module equipped students with the skills to design engaging retail displays that enhance customer experience, drive sales and strengthen brand identity.

Anushree Mukherjee, a BDes graduate of the Class of 2025, with major in Interaction Design and minor in Graphic Design and Nandana Binu Raj, a BDes graduate of the Class of 2025, with major in Interaction Design and minor in Product Design, secured the position of UX Engineering Analyst at Accenture. Anushree and Nandana earned these opportunities through the Campus Placement Drive 2025–26, organised by the Career Services Office.

Foundation Year students from the Class of 2028 received design registration (IPR) for the idea, Woodwork Zoo, as an outcome of the Foundation Module Materials, Properties and Processes, mentored by the visiting faculty, Prof Krishna Mashruwala and Prof Apurva Pandey. Anant’s Aarambh Incubation Centre supported the initiative by funding and facilitating the complete IPR process for sixteen selected projects.
