Space design includes interior design, landscape design, exhibition design, set design and retail design, among many others.
An interior designer undertakes projects that include arranging the layout of spaces within a building, as well as projects that require an understanding of technical issues such as window and door positioning, acoustics and lighting.
Interior designers work on a variety of projects. They analyse client needs, create plans and specifications, and ensure a project is finished within the timeline and budget. Interior designers mainly work at design firms, architecture firms, corporates, government organisations, start-ups or start their own design studio/practice.
Communication design prepares students to conceptualise and execute the visual side of printed materials and electronic media output.
Students can look at exciting career opportunities in a wide array of industries, including advertising, media, publishing, public relations, the tech sector, fashion, entertainment and even government agencies. Communication designers work as art directors, animators, creative directors, graphic designers, illustrators, printmakers, production designers, etc.
Transdisciplinary Design is for those passionate about devising solutions to complex multidisciplinary problems. Students are introduced to tools and working methods to address pressing issues at both local and global levels. Transdisciplinary designers receive training in all fields of design and choose courses from other design disciplines.
Transdisciplinary designers pursue entrepreneurial opportunities or work as independent consultants. They also work in reputed design consultancies. They find work as designers in the development sector too, catering to fields of their interest such as education, livelihood, agriculture, health care and public services.
Interaction Design focuses on the interaction between users and products. These products range from software, like apps, games, websites, etc. The goal of an interaction designer is to create products that enable the user to achieve their objective(s) in the best possible manner and create the best user experience for consumers.
An interaction designer works closely with the product development department and advocates for the users. One can explore job opportunities with software giants such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, among many others.
Product designers are responsible for managing the end-to-end processes of product creation, including an understanding of product requirements, brainstorming for ideas, creating prototypes and developing the final product after thorough market research.
Product designers innovate with an eye on the cost, aesthetics, prestige value, product functionality, assembling and disassembling of the product, along with the maintenance process and costing.
Product design careers cover a broad spectrum of industries, from manufacturing, information technology, start-ups, NGOs, etc. Product designers could work in corporates or independently as freelancers. A product designer typically works as part of a team, often comprising junior, middle and senior positions. Eventually, the product designer rises to the position of Design Manager or Creative Lead, overseeing the design as well as administrative and managerial aspects, while contributing towards the overall growth of the business.
With the success of make in India project launched in 2014, India is now becoming a global manufacturing hub and therefore a Global Innovation hub too with Design as an industry growing at the CAGR (Compound Annual Growth rate) of 25% every year and in next 5 years, it is assumed that India will be requiring more than 6,00,000 designers.

Every individual has a natural talent/affinity for a field of study. A creative bent of mind is not linked to artistic skills alone. A person can have the ability to look at things with a unique perspective or a knack for out-of-the-box thinking that leads to problem-solving. If you have any of these traits and an eye for detail, then you are an excellent fit for our design programmes.
Since ADEPT is held online every year, and not at any test centre, the portfolio is not necessary. However, the portfolio will be needed during the interview round.
The topics that are generally included in Anant’s Design Entrance and Proficiency Test (ADEPT) are general knowledge, general aptitude, creative thinking, logical reasoning and problem solving.
A student applying for the Bachelor of Design programme should have passed his/her 12th-grade board exams with a minimum of 50% marks. The student will have to take ADEPT (Anant Design Entrance and Proficiency Test), Anant’s online entrance test comprising three stages – MCQ round, Situation Test and Portfolio Interview.

UX and UI design are part of interaction design. In fact, interaction design graduates are employed by the ever-growing digital industry as UX / UI designers in large numbers. Interaction design largely concerns itself with the design of digital products, environments, systems and services, and often extends itself to the non-digital realm, like extrapolating on how people might interact with the physical environment, systems, spaces, objects, other people, society, organisations, etc.
Although game design is considered a field on its own, many aspects overlap with interaction design. For example, interaction designers regularly apply gamification principles to design interactive systems, often to motivate people to behave in a particular way. On the other hand, one of the ways in which game designers apply interaction design, especially in the case of digital games, is in the design of the controls, information architecture, task flows and general usability of the game itself.

To bridge the gap between theoretical learning and the real world, we embed community-engaged projects that involve students directly working with real people and social contexts.

Students of undergraduate programmes at Anant choose their preferred courses for each specialisation. While some courses are mandatory, Anant offers various elective courses, and students can choose the subject according to their preference. The class size is determined based on these choices made by the students and hence has no limitation. Generally, the class size for studio courses is around 20, and for seminar courses, it is around 40.

Sustainable Fashion and Textile Design is special for its future-forward approach. It blends eco-friendly values, modern tech and a worldwide outlook. It strives to lessen the industry’s environmental footprint while fostering creativity and ingenuity. This forward-thinking approach not only transforms the way we design and produce fashion but also leaves a positive impact on the environment and society as a whole.
The programme’s objective is to cultivate adaptable and industry-ready professionals for the fashion industry who are adept at creatively and responsibly addressing challenges. These individuals will draw upon a profound understanding of their chosen fields and a critical awareness of the societal, cultural, economic and sustainable influences on the environment. By incorporating a global perspective, this programme equips students to navigate the intricacies of an ever-evolving fashion landscape, thereby contributing to a future that is both sustainable and socially responsible.
